LLOYD HAROLD KELLETT
Nov. 1, 1939-July 19, 2014
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our husband, father and Papa, Lloyd Harold Kellett.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife Johanna, sons Vern (Patty, daughter Sara), Brent, Boyd (Celia, daughters Kailey and Avery), sisters Fern (Hugh) McPherson, Phyllis (Francis) Dyck, Sandra (Vic) Kasprick and their families.
He was predeceased by his parents John and Sarah Kellett.
Lloyd spent much of his working life with Manitoba Telephone Systems as a lineman and cable splicer. There are few towns in Manitoba he had not visited during some point in his career. His interests and hobbies ranged from fastball, curling and hunting, to fishing and camping at Nutimik in later years. Dad enjoyed all his sons’ sports interests.
The rough edges of Dad’s personality were smoothed over with the arrival of his three granddaughters. He loved spending time with them at home and at the lake. We want to thank all the staff in D2 at Riverview Health Centre for their care and support, especially Ashley and Susan who helped us through those difficult last days.
A celebration of our dad’s life took place Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Harrow United Church, 955 Mulvey Avenue, Winnipeg.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lloyd’s memory to The Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, or The Riverview Health Centre Foundation, 1 Morley Avenue, Winnipeg.
