PETER ILLCHUK SR
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, Peter, on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at the age of 91 years, at the Vita Hospital.
Remaining to forever cherish Peter’s memory are: his daughters: Marion Parisien (Tom) and Darlene Johansson (Ken); sons: Peter (Janet), Dennis (Sharon) and Jeffrey (Laurel); son-in-law Keith Allen and sister-in-law Helen Riha; his sister Jean Evenblij and brother Walter. He will be sadly missed by his 14 grandchildren, his 11 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Andela (Riha), daughter Shirley Allen, great-grandson Matthew Illchuk, his father William, his mother Anna (Doner), sister Anne Makohoniuk, brother John and brother-in-law Frank Riha.
Peter was a WWII veteran. He lived most of his life in Carrick, Manitoba. He worked for CNR for 33 years and then with Natural Resources during his retirement.
The memorial service officiated by Larry Hirst, will be held on Monday, June 16, 2014 at 11:00 a.m., at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Drive, Steinbach, MB.
The family would like to extend special thanks to all of the staff at the Vita Hospital for their wonderful care and compassion shown to our father.
