JOHNNY KIES
Johnny Kies passed away peacefully on Monday, May 19, 2014 at Parkview Place in Winnipeg, Manitoba at the age of 79.
Johnny was born in Sarto, Manitoba to Pearl (Krylik) and Peter Kies on August 2, 1934.
Johnny was predeceased by his parents, three sisters: Margaret Gresuik, Anne Derbowka, and Frances Nadeau; and two brothers Paul Kis and Nick Kiss.
He is survived by his brother Steve Kies of Winnipeg and two sisters: Vicki Hoshowski of Winnipeg and Mary Stilkowski of Beaseujour; two sisters-in-law Anne Kis of Steinbach, and Teenie Kiss of Winnipeg, as well as numerous extended family.
Johnny worked for 40 years as an equipment operator at CNR Transcona.
He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. The family would like to thank the staff of Parkview Place for their care and love.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB, with viewing prior to the service. Burial will follow at St. Michael Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Sarto, MB.
Pallbearers at the service will be Larry Kis, Danny Gresuik, Chris Derbowka, Nick Derbowka, Jerry Kies, and Peter Kiss. Shirley Rolsky will serve as a honourary pallbearer.

Donations may be made in Johnny’s memory to St. Michael Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery Fund.
