September 27, 1936 – April 5, 2014
Peacefully at home, Art passed away with family by his side. Left to mourn are his wife, Alvina of 50 years, children Charlene, Martin (Karen) Bonnie (Dan), and treasured grandchildren Heather, Lily, Jackson, Cole, Ryan & Nicholas. Arthur is also survived by his brothers Pete (Elsie), John (Helen), Henry (Julia) & sister Justina (Gerry). Arthur was preceded by his parents, Johann and Mary, stepmother Marie and sister Lydia Miszczak.
Art was born near Justice, MB and moved to Steinbach to run a blacksmith shop with his dad where he discovered his love of welding and went on to become an international welding engineer. He loved to be surrounded by his family and especially all the grandchildren. In his spare time he would often be found fixing or creating. His regular projects included antique cars and baking bread.
Arthur will be greatly missed by his family and friends. The family would like to thank the wonderful homecare workers who made it possible for Art to be at home with his family.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Art’s final retirement party Friday April 11th at 1:30pm at Fort Garry MB Church. A private interment will take place in advance of this service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Union Gospel Mission.
