JOHN F. ENNS
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce that on Wednesday, April 2, 2014, our loving husband, father, and grandfather, John F. Enns passed away at the age of 79 at the Bethesda Hospital Emergency.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Leona Enns (nee Hildebrand) of 53 years, children: Jane Lucier (Jimmy), Bonnie Enns (Mike), and Robert Enns (Tammy); six grandchildren: Shane, Sami, Zack, Kyle, Chandler, and Jackson; as well as his brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and many friends.
He was retired from Parmalat in Grunthal in November 1998, at the age of 65, after working there for 30 years. Preceding that, he worked at Barkman Concrete in Steinbach for eight years, and also worked construction and various other jobs. His working career began at the tender age of 13, where he worked at a logging camp in the bush.
He was a “John” of all trades- handyman, plumber, inventor, electrician, mechanic, carpenter, and all self-taught. He could fix anything at a fraction of the cost. He prided himself in a job well done. He is now resting in a place with no more pain and suffering, his wait is over and he has gone home.
Our family would like to thank Pastor John Neufeld and Birchwood Funeral Chapel.
The funeral service was held Saturday, April 5, 2014, at 2:00 p.m., at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, with interment at Grunthal Cemetery.
Donations in memory of John may be made to Heart & Stroke Foundation.
