STEFFIE MANDZY
March 29, 1923 – March 22, 2014
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Steffie Mandzy on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at her residence.
Steffie was predeceased by her parents Alex and Helen Mandzy, infant sister Mary and her brother Anton.
She is survived by her sister Victoria, and many cousins, friends and neighbours.
Steffie was born, grew up in and completed grade 8 in Stuartburn, MB. She worked on the farm all her life except for a few months in her early 20’s when she worked at a sewing factory in Winnipeg.
She loved flowers and gardening. She cared for her mother for four years after her mother’s stroke. Despite all of Steffie’s health issues over the last number of years, she still enjoyed the gardening, sewing and mending, which were her specialities. We all very much relied on her memory. She was aware of current affairs and watched the six o’clock news.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church, Stuartburn, MB with viewing at the church following the service. Burial will follow at the Parish Cemetery.
If friends so desire, donations in memory of Steffie may be made to the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church.
