EDWARD PICHLYK

It is with indescribable heartache that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Ed, who passed peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at the age of 52.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 24 years, Judy; siblings: Garry (Barb), Shelley (Dan), and Paul (Donna); his very special mother-in-law Winnie Morken; in-laws: Ken (Cindy) and Lori (Brian); nieces and nephews: Justin (Christine), Jasmin, Corey, Kyle, Kara (Vince), Kaine, Riley, Bryce, Paetyn, Jeremy (Kristy), Jamie, Darrell, and Todd (Anita); great niece and nephews: Dylan, Kaidence, Kinley, Jacob and Damen; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and colleagues.

Ed is predeceased by his parents Paul and Oleana, Judy's dad Harry, and his four legged buddies: Frisco, Benny and Tonka.

Ed was born on September 19, 1961 in Vita, MB. He grew up on the family farm in Sundown where he attended grade school and then went on to graduate from Shevchenko High School in 1979. While growing up on the family farm, Ed acquired a strong work ethic and passion for farming.

At the age of 18, Ed moved to Winnipeg for the next chapter of his life where he met and fell in love with the girl of his dreams Judy Morken. They lived in St. Vital and ventured to Sundown regularly enabling Ed to continue farming with his mom and dad. On August 19, 1989, they were married. A grand celebration of their 25th anniversary was in the works. They were also looking forward to retirement at their home in Arizona.

Ed began his construction career in his early 20's alongside his dad at BACM eventually moving on to Nelson River, Mulder and Diamond. In the spring of 2006 Ed founded Hy-Way. Along with so many skilled people, Hy-way grew so quickly, we can only imagine how far Ed would have taken it and we will do our best to make Ed's dreams come true.

Every day of Ed's life was lived to the fullest and he was passionate in everything he did. Ed touched so many lives and will be missed immensely by all who knew him.
Prayers will be said on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, March 21, at 11:00 a.m. at the Ukrainian Catholic Church of Ascension, Sundown, with interment at the Parish Cemetery.

If friends so desire they may make a donation in Ed's memory to the Manitoba Wildlife Federation.
