After a long and courageous battle with cancer, with his best friend Phyllis by his side, Marcel Joseph Faucher passed away on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013.
Marcel leaves his best friend Phyllis Drouillard, his son Marc (Sherry), his daughter Monique, and his grandchildren Jean-Marc, David and Julie Faucher, Steven and Gabrielle Rowland, his brothers Henri (Cindy Maclean), Claude (Laurette Laurin), Paul (Joanne Lagimodière), his sisters Henriette Boily and Jeanne (Benoît) Boily and many nieces and nephews.
Marcel was predeceased by his first wife Louise Fontaine in July 1996, his father Didius Faucher in July 1991 and a brother Robert in November 1960, brothers-in-law Clément Boily in 2003 and Arthur Trudeau in 2008.
Marcel was born in St Boniface, MB on July 2, 1940 to Didius Faucher and Angeline Proulx. He attended school in Richer and Ste Anne, MB. Marcel was out in the work force at a very young age. He worked in lumber camps, drove pulp trucks for L.G. Smith and went on to drive for Kleysen’s Transport. Long distance hauling was his passion. He drove for MakSteel for 28 years. Marcel retired in 2004.
At Marcel’s request there will be no service, but a quiet family ceremony will be held at his most treasured place, the family farm in Richer, MB.
Cremation has taken place and interment will be held at a later date.
