Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBIBIANE HELEN/BABE (LAMONTAGNE) FISHER
Bibiane Helene/Babe (Lamontagne) Fisher was born in Lisieux, SK on Aug. 17, 1928.
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013 at the age of 85 years.
Bibiane enjoyed cooking, knitting, reading, attending church services, bingo, crib, skip-bo and most of all spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The love for her family and friends was the most important thing in her life. She was very proud of her family and they gave her great pleasure.
She was preceded in death by her husband Henry Fisher in 1995 and an infant son Henry in 1949.
Bibiane is survived by her children Jean and George, Diane and Peter, Vern and Gerdie, Eddie and Wendy, Harry and Allison, Cliff and Sandra, Annie and Rodney, Raymond and Joyce, Ken and Lil, Dale and Anita, Roger and Marylyn, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, one brother, three sisters, three sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law.
Mom married Dad in 1946 in Lisieux, SK. They lived in Rockglen, SK and then moved to Rosa, MB in 1954 and started a family farm.
Mom ran the house and farm while Dad worked away. Once the children were older, Mom became a seamstress at St Malo Sewing Factory. Later she worked for Gagne Gravel as a crusher operator.
Eventually, Mom retired with Dad on their farm on #201 to prune and care for their fruit trees. They enjoyed a few trips to Abbotsford, BC as well as a trip to the Black Hills in South Dakota. After Dad’s passing, Ma moved to Tolstoi and then to St Malo Chalet. She made many friends while living at St Malo Chalet and later moved to the Vita Personal Care Home.
The funeral service was held on Monday, Oct. 28 at 10:30 a.m. Funeral mass began at 11 a.m. presided by Father Dominic La Fluer at the Parish Blessed Margaret Catholic Church in St Malo, MB. Funeral interment was held at Tolstoi Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Cemetery immediately after the mass. Lunch followed at the Tolstoi Hall. Pallbearers were her eight sons.
Should friends so desire, donations in memory of Bibiane may be made to the Vita District Health Foundation or a charity of your choice.
Heartfelt thanks to the staff of the St Malo Chalet, Vita Personal Care Home, Bethesda Hospital and everyone else involved in our mother’s care.
Forever missed, forever loved.
Arrangements in care of Wiebe Funeral Home of Altona, MB.
