ROSE AIMEE SUSANE FILLION
(née PARENT)
May 3, 1948 - September 28, 2020
Rose lived at home until she was 18 (1966) when she chose to follow in the footsteps of her older sister Rachel and older brother Gilles and move to Vancouver. After Rose settled in, her sister France moved to join her and the two sisters shared an apartment in Vancouver. In the summer of 1968, Andy Fillion left for the West Coast to chase down the woman of his dreams. He reunited with Rose in Vancouver and their future was set. Rose said yes to Andy's marriage proposal and in September 1970, they started their life together. Rose and Andy moved to Aldergrove in 1974 where they built a new home on five acres.
Rose gave birth to a beautiful daughter Coleen on a sunny day in August 1974. Her son Jacques was born in the summer of August 1977 and her son Marc in the spring of 1980. Rose and Andy lived in Aldergrove raising their family until 1987 when they built a new home together in Surrey where they lived until 2003. At that time, they built yet another new home in Fleetwood where they stayed until 2013.
Rose and Andy's son Marc was blessed with a son Adrian and then a daughter Haylie, and Rose began her new role as a loving grandmother, a roll that she cherished everyday for the rest of her life. Rose and Andy's son Jacques married Allison in 2005 which added another member to the growing family. Allison gave birth to Luc, Nicholas and Owen to provide Rose with three more grandchildren. Rose could not be happier, and lovingly watched over all five of her grandchildren.
Rose lived out the balance of her life with her husband Andy in their home in White Rock where she spent many happy hours tending her vegetable and flower gardens. She lived for her grandchildren, and they supplied her with lots of love right up to her final hours.
Rose Fillion passed away in her home, in the loving presence of her family, on September 28, 2020 after a brief battle with cancer.
