FR. JERRY TALARSKI, OMI
July 20, 1930 - October 4, 2020
Fr. Jerry Talarski, OMI was born on July 20, 1930, in Krydor, Saskatchewan. He graduated high school, St. Michael College in Toronto, in 1949. In 1950, he entered the Oblate noviciate and a year later he began studies at St. Charles Scholasticate in Saskatchewan. He was ordained on July 22, 1956. For the first four years after his ordination, he was a prefect at a college in Toronto. In 1960, he began work as an associate pastor at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish in St. Catharines, Ontario. Two years later, he was assigned to Winnipeg at the Holy Ghost Parish for one year. In 1963, he became the pastor at St. Patrick Parish in Sturgis, Saskatchewan, where he worked for 18 years. Fr. Jerry served at St. Stanislaus Parish in East Selkirk and Corpus Christi Parish in Narol from 1987 until 2013, when he retired.
