WALTER DENNIS BARNETT
August 7, 1970 - September 27, 2020
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer, children, Serena, Michael and Dylan, grandchildren, Starlyn and Kaiden, as well as his mom Leslie and in-laws, Bernie and Susan, his brothers, Jim and Pat, and his sister Teresa. He was predeceased by his father Ted.
Dennis was a fun loving, hardworking guy who would give the shirt off his back if you needed it. He enjoyed his life with many friends by his side, often going to Smitty's or a local truck stop for coffee. He loved to travel to Puerto Vallarta with Jennifer every winter to visit family and was a huge Bomber fan! He enjoyed spending time with his kids which included breakfasts with his son Michael, coffee dates with his daughter Serena and watching Bomber games with his son Dylan. They were the apple of his eye and he loved them dearly.
He was a proud semi truck driver who had been in the industry for over 25 years, driving all over North America. He had started his career with city work and a lot of long haul trucking, but when he met Jennifer in 2013, he started to wind down his long haul career so that he could be more of the family man he wanted to be. He took a job with Sobeys and was so proud this year to do his part as an essential worker during the pandemic. He was our "hero".
We love you Dennis and we will cherish your memory as you will be greatly missed by all.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
