Condolences & Memories (6 entries)

  • Carolyn was a force of nature. My wife and I loved her spirit, generosity, and kindness. I will miss her dearly as a colleague and a friend. She reached out at a very dark time in my life, when my other colleagues ignored my obvious pain and distress. Her example as a compassionate educator will continue to inspire me. She was courage and gave peace to many. Her family must remain heartened knowing she serves so many with wit, intelligence, and a tender generosity. - Posted by: Dr. Jason M. • Our deepest condolences to the Crippen family. Carolyn was a special lady; a good friend, a thoughtful colleague and a supportive mentor. We shared some wonderful times such as our trip to Kentucky, dinners celebrating their anniversary at Elkhorn and quiet evenings in their condo. The tough times were made easier with Carolyn's support. We are deeply saddened by your loss. - Posted by: Donna Jaremy (friend) on: Oct 19, 2020

  • My deepest sympathy to Al, Craig, Charlotte and family. Carolyn was my Superintendent, Professor, Mentor and friend. A true Servant Leader. A Master Educator that excelled in the University setting with adult learners. She was a leader by example and I was so blessed to have spent such quality time with both Carolyn and Al. Her Legacy will remain with so many that she inspired and influenced. Rest In Peace Carolyn, May her Memory be Eternal! - Posted by: Ken Romaniuk (Friend) on: Oct 12, 2020

  • I am sorry to read of the passing of Carolyn. My condolences to the Crippen family. We met her when she lived in Winnipeg and enjoyed our conversations with her and Mr. Crippen at our Lazy Dog Café. She was a bright, humorous and energetic lady who will be missed by many. - Posted by: Mary Anne Yuzyk-Shore (Acquaintance ) on: Oct 10, 2020

  • Carolyn was an amazing teacher who transformed the way I look at relationships and leadership. She was a true "Servant Leader" who inspired others with her stories, which she often found in children's books. Who cold forget Mr. Peabody's Apples. Rest in Peace Carolyn. Job well done! My prayers and condolences to her family. Robert Praznik Superintendent, Manitoba Catholic Schools - Posted by: Robert Praznik (Friend) on: Oct 10, 2020

  • I am so sorry to hear of your loss. My colleagues and I still talk about our experiences in Carolyn’s inclusive education course - 17 years later! She has made a difference in so many adult’s and children's lives. I am inspired to hear she was 60 when she got her Ph.d! - Posted by: Natalie (Former university student ) on: Oct 10, 2020
