PATRICK A. ROUGEAU
March 4, 1937 - October 12, 2020

Unexpectedly yet peacefully, with family by his side, Patrick left this earth on October 12, 2020, to meet his Heavenly Father.
Patrick was the oldest son of Lucien and Antoinette (née Ritchot) Rougeau. He was part of a large family and grew up with seven siblings.
Pat and the love of his life, Irma, have been side by side for more than 65 years. They dated as teenagers and he was embraced by the André family when they married in April 1958. They were blessed with three children, Michel, Patricia (Bob) and Joël (Chantal), and five grandchildren, Nicole, Danelle, Jennifer, Bryan, and Alexandre. Pepe was always joyful, but especially so when his family gathered.
Pat had a twinkle in his eye and a ready smile. Having lived in Windsor Park since 1962, neighbours became good friends. If anyone needed a hand, he was the 'go-to' guy. He was a man of many talents and skills; Chef, handy-man and fixer of anything.
Patrick dedicated over 35 years working with the Province of Manitoba and after retirement his life became busier. He and Irma were active parishioners of Saints-Martyrs-Canadiens, Patrick was a proud member of les Chevaliers de Colomb, and he and Irma, always together, were willing volunteers.
Pat treated life preciously and he did his best to live it to the fullest.
He is deeply loved and already profoundly missed.
We would like to thank the members of the Winnipeg Fire and Paramedic Service, the Health Sciences Centre Emergency Department, and the Health Sciences Centre WRS3 Medicine Ward, for the excellent care.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba or a charity of your choice.
A private service will be held.

Condolences & Memories (7 entries)

  • Pat, Bob and the entire Rougeau family, we were so saddened to hear of your Dad’s passing. We both have many fond memories of your dad at DVL. He was always a gentleman, genuine and professional with a quick and ready smile. I remember the many conversations he and I had while he sat waiting for his turn to talk to Wally. We are thinking of you during these difficult times. Hugs to you all, Pat and Rick Ledieu - Posted by: Pat and Rick Ledieu (Colleague ) on: Nov 14, 2020

  • I am so sorry to hear about Mr Rougeau. He and you were such good friends of my Mom and Dad. You both were a couple of the only ones that stay in touch with her after Dad died. Please accept this GIANT email HUG as one can't physically give one right now. Brenda - Posted by: Brenda Paradis nee Horn (family friend) on: Nov 01, 2020

  • My most sincere condolences to the family. Pat was my boss at Vehicle Standard. When he first started working for the Province, he was my Dad’s boss also. We were chatting about when he first began working for Highways and when he would visit the shop in Morris Manitoba. And we found out he was visiting my Dad. What a small world! I was sad when he retired but very happy for him. RIP Pat! - Posted by: Darlene Sorin (Colleague at Vehicle Standard) on: Oct 21, 2020

  • We will all miss this kind man. He was a great neighbour and a dear friend. Our heartfelt condolences to Irma and family. Love, the Motts. - Posted by: Shirley Mott (Neighbour and friend) on: Oct 18, 2020

  • Pat and I worked together at Motor Vehicles years ago. From the moment I arrived there, he was kind, decent and so helpful. I thought he was lovely gentleman. My condolences to the family. - Posted by: Susan Boulter (we worked together) on: Oct 15, 2020

  • Our sincerest Condolences to you Pat, your immediate family and all other family members and friends. Pat was the nicest person one could ever know; always had a smile, never a cross word. The gentlest soul ever. We will truly miss him, too. - Posted by: Walter & Phyllis Blahut (Former neighbours on Maywood Rd.) on: Oct 15, 2020
