JUNE ANN HORAN
Mom was predeceased by her husband Greg; her parents, Richard and Alice, and brother Robert. She is survived by her sister Evelyn; her three sons, Randy, Shaun (Pam) and Barry (Cynthia); grandchildren, Ryan, Colin, Chris, Trevor and Stephanie; and great-grandchildren, Ryker and Marcus.
Mom grew up at the University of Manitoba and lived in Fort Garry until she met Dad, got married and moved to Dog River. After Dad passed away, Mom found herself a young single parent of three young boys and returned to Winnipeg. Over the years, Mom was an Executive Secretary for a number of presidents of companies in Fort Garry, with her final position as secretary to the Speaker of the House of the Manitoba Legislature. Mom loved her curling, once winning the mixed curling championship of Manitoba, and enjoyed playing golf and racquet ball, and travel. She enjoyed several great years out at Lake of the Woods and loved to entertain friends, and friends of the boys. She was fortunate to have many years with her beloved dog, Max.
Mom's health declined in the later years and she moved to Edmonton to be closer to her family. The last two years she struggled with dementia but maintained her sense of humour.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Chartwell Heritage and Eden House for their care, compassion and kindness towards Mom.
In Mom's memory donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
