We are heart-broken to announce that our Jamie passed away on October 6, 2020.
Missed and dearly loved by Mom and Daddio, Lauren and Rob Bilbey, sister, Jessie, and his adored, rescued dog Sadie, family and friends. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Doris and Bob Bilbey, and Jeannine Curtis.
Jamie was born May 19, 1989 and his sister immediately became his best friend and protector. He loved his friends as family and his co-workers. He was witty, funny, so kind, and would crack you up with one-liners. "His laugh would make your eyebrows smile". His hugs were huge, tight and long.
Jamie loved hockey from the time he could skate, always a Mitchell Mohawk from Squirts to Seniors and the Red Bulls. He loved his '93 Mustang, all seafood, a very rare steak, and was a great cook. He cherished adventures in northern MB, and exploring abandoned mines in BC. He was into astral photography and took astounding pictures.
Jamie's battle with depression was long and painful, but he wasn't alone. He shared his story with trusted friends and family, all of whom would drop everything for him. He tried many avenues of help and when one route didn't give him the peace he sought, he would try another. If love could have saved him, he would have lived forever.
Honourary pallbearers are: Danica and Luke Bergmann, Carter Friesen, Bryce Marmus, Kyle Okapiec, Shane Froese and Justin (Kessel) Dueck.
We thank the RCMP, Paramedics, ER staff especially Pam G., Dr. Ilchyna, Hydro, and everyone who sent flowers, food and messages.
Donations to Winnipeg Pet Rescue Shelter, 3062 Portage Ave. or St. Raphael Wellness Centre, 2nd floor, 225 Vaughan St., Winnipeg.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 162 PTH 52W, Steinbach, MB.
Due to Covid restrictions the service will be by invitation only. Jamie would want everyone to be safe, masks will be mandatory and available at the door. We understand if you are unable to attend due to Covid concerns.
