With saddened hearts we announce the sudden passing of our mother, Mildred Kilby, on Wednesday, October 14, 2020.
Mom was born in Lanigan, Saskatchewan August 23, 1928, to Marvel and Bertram Davidson. She had two brothers: Lloyd and Grant (Anne).
Mom married Dad in 1953 and together they raised four children.
Like her mother, Mom enjoyed cooking and trying new recipes for us to enjoy. Through her love of cooking, we were blessed to learn about and taste foods from all over the world, which when we were young, was not as commonly practiced as it is today.
Mom taught us to see the beauty in nature. From majestic mountains to delicate fragile flowers they were all something she would delight in and take pleasure admiring.
Mom liked to knit and sew. She liked to play games and read books that would make her laugh. She liked to talk to her neighbours when they came by and always had a pot of tea on the go for anyone wanting to join her.
Mom leaves to mourn her passing her daughters; Brenda Emmonds (Jim), Lauren Courcelles (Ed) and Alix Butler (Jeff), as well as her daughter-in-law, Caleen Kilby. She will also be lovingly missed by her grandchildren; Coryn Hodder (Tyler and baby Hazel), Lianna Brook (Dylan and daughters, Emmilyn and baby Roselle), Carling Butler (special friend Kleighton Burns) and Dayna Butler. She was predeceased by her parents, Marvel and Bertram, husband, John, son Ward, brothers, Grant and Lloyd and sister-in-law, Anne.
A private service will be held and interment will take place at Brookside Cemetery where she will be laid to rest alongside her husband John.
Flowers are gratefully declined.
