Condolences & Memories (7 entries)

  • My family met Algi and David more than 30 years ago. David and Kevin played hockey together at Bronx Community Club and then various other clubs over the years. We spent a lot of time together. Algi was always a colourful and interesting character who made us laugh often. We met up socially at different events or homes of friends and had lots of fun as our kids were growing up. We will miss you Algi. All our sympathy to you, David and Marlies. Donna - Posted by: Donna Eastoe (Friend) on: Oct 19, 2020

  • Profoundly saddened to hear of Algi’s passing. Most sincere condolences to David and family. I have had the pleasure of knowing Algi for over 60 yrs. Attended confirmation classes, as children, playmates on Henry Ave. and attended Hugh John MacDonald school. There was never a dull moment with Algi, he always had stories to tell, and some gossip. Always bubbly and energetic. A lifetime friendship. “REST IN PEACE” Ed Bagdonas - Posted by: Edward Bagdonas (Friend) on: Oct 18, 2020

  • I would like to express my sincere condolences to David, Marlies and Algi’s family. I first met Algi around 1970, as we were both members of IBEW 2085. Over the years we developed a strong friendship. When working with Algi, he proved himself to be an excellent tradesman, and a very dedicated union member. The most recent project I worked with Algi on, was at the Simplot plant, Portage La Prärie. On the last days of the shutdown, we were working partners. When Algi was on the project, there were always some good fun and enjoyable times to be had. Algi was never shy to make his point known, even if it meant stirring up a hornets nest. As a union member he took a very active roll and in union activities, by accepting nominations and helping out. I’m sure he will be missed by the members.
