VIOLET ISABEL CHRISMAS
(nee JEFFERY)
Violet married Doug, from a small farm in Vivian, Manitoba, and had three kids, Doug, Debbie and Bob. She was a total mother and cared about nothing other than the welfare of her family. Struggling to retain her memory in the last few years Violet's full time hobby was remembering the names of her children, grandchildren and their partners, who she loved dearly. When we visited her in Tuxedo Villa, Violet would recite their names: Doug and Star and their kids, Tony, David, Karen (now Violet), Scott and Heather, Debbie and Charlie and their kids, Amanda and George, and Bob and Barb and their kids, Crystal, Chelsea, Brandi and Bobby. It was tragic when Violet had to move into a home without her cherished cats. She would have loved nothing more than to be involved more over the last 10 years with all of us, and all of her great-grandchildren, who all live on because of her.
Violet and Doug (Mom and Dad), modelled unconditional love and the importance of family for all of us. Now they are back together and their legacy will live on.
Due to Covid, there will be no service.
Our heartfelt thanks to the nursing staff at Tuxedo Villa for their care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, if so desired, donations may be made in Violet's memory to a cat rescue of your choice.
Rest in Peace Mom,
you are back with Dad now.

I remember Vi so well. At a time when my husband, Bev Jones, was Sunday School Superintendent at St Mary’s Church, Vi was one of our teachers. My children remember her fondly and I am sure many others will too. She was like a grandmother to them all - loving and gentle and supportive. I haven’t met any of her family for many years but be assured she is not forgotten. Our condolences to all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, She was a lovely lady. Debbie and family, my condolences in the loss of your mom and grandmother. It’s so hard to lose such an important part of our family. I have good memories of my interactions with your mom on unit 2. I have missed working with you Deb as well, on the committees and activities we helped with. You gave so much support to the Villa.... they will miss you too. Hugs... - Posted by: Janice McWilliams (Friend from Tuxedo Vill) on: Oct 24, 2020

Sorry to hear of your Moms passing. Vi and Kathy (Farley) Slingsby were childhood friends. Husbands Doug and Les were good friends who worked together at the City of Winnipeg Shops. As children, we remember visiting with your family at a number of homes , built by your Dad, in Charleswood. There were a couple of years, when you were growing up, that you lived in Weston. Our Moms enjoyed living nearer to each other and enjoying coffee together. Les lost track of Vi after their spouses passed but Dad kept a photo of her beside his telephone. He knew that you would be caring for her in the same way we were helping our Dad. We will remember her fondly.
