TRACEY LYNN WRIGHT
Left with fond and colourful memories are we, her parents, Larry and Pat Wright, brother Craig (Lisa), her life partner Sean Mulvey; aunties, Lynn and Joanne, and many others.
Tracey completed our family unit when she arrived, we called her our princess. As the only girl with two older brothers she grew up being adored by her parents and put to the test by her brothers, Craig and Kelly, resulting in her becoming a sensitive, caring young woman, while filled with inner strength, determination and independence. Her childhood was filled with love and laughter and she never failed to amaze her parents at her ease in learning and excelling at anything new, be it school, sports, piano or otherwise. Our family camping trips were always the highlight of her summers. After graduating from Miles Macdonell Collegiate she completed the Animal Health Technology course at Red River Community College, then immediately enrolled at the University of Manitoba, graduating with distinction from the Bachelor of Environmental Studies Department.
Growing up in a household where music was a daily constant provided her not only with a deep connection to music, but to family and friends through music. She loved hanging out with her talented friends, jamming late into the night whether it was at house parties, camping or at a cottage. She travelled near and far to hear music festivals and was a frequent attendee of the Winnipeg Folk Festival where sharing stories and memories with friends around the campfire became a yearly tradition.
Tracey served her community in many capacities, from environmental co-ops to veterinary assistant, University of Manitoba research assistance and environmental scientist. While she had moved from veterinary science into environmental sciences, she maintained her love and patience for animals, as evidenced by her many tales of Gus, her first four legged companion and the others who followed. This perhaps was the common ground that she found in Sean Mulvey, her future common law partner. They worked at Pinchin Environmental side by side for five years where she became the rock star of the Environmental Due Diligence and Remediation Group and a savior to many Manitoba clients.
In 2018 and 2019 after many months of saving, Tracey and Sean realized their dream of travelling by van, through western Canada and down the US west coast and then flying on to Southeast Asia. With over a thousand kilometers hiked in old growth forest, mountain alpine, deserts, tropical rainforest and ocean coasts, her wonder and appreciation for nature grew with every step. She became determined to do only her best in working to save our planet.
Upon their return to Canada, they settled in Vernon and learned to love the small town atmosphere, immersing themselves in all the natural wonders of the province. She worked as a legal assistant at Fairview Family Law where she became a favourite of the clients with her gentle and sympathetic nature.
On the home front Tracey loved hitting the road early, on trips or walks. She was a frequent "shopper" of the back lanes and side streets of Winnipeg and eventually perfected her craft and technique in Vernon, decorating the entire apartment with her own style, somewhere between minimalist, naturalist and frugality. She had an impressive green thumb and loved being in the kitchen. Food was her favourite thing and being a self taught nutritionist allowed her to express her passion in the kitchen. It was not unusual to see the cupboards peppered with items frugally bought, displaying 75 percent off stickers with at least three notifications about how grass fed, organic, non-GMO, fair trade, free range, pesticide, hormone and gluten free they were.
Tracey found her soulmate in Sean, and together they brought out the best in each other. Their love and support was unconditional and filled with the simple joys of life, adventure and the wonder of nature.
Tracey was kind, considerate, loving, and free spirited, all rolled into one delightful package. She had a calming, conscientious and beautiful soul and she truly lived in the moment. Her soft and caring nature was expressed by giving to those less fortunate than herself. She often sought out experiences rather than material possessions and although naturally shy would welcome people with her quiet sense of humour and her warm, beautiful smile.
She has filled our lives with more love, joy, laughter, and adventures than ever imagined.
Tracey, we hold you forever in our hearts,
and take comfort in the knowledge that you
are reunited with your loving brother Kelly.
Until we meet again our sweet girl.

Tracy...what a beautiful soul, gone from this world far too soon. Tracy was such an incredibly warm, intelligent, compassionate and genuine person and it such was a great honour to have her as my friend. Tracy was one of the least pretentious people on this earth, and I’ll always miss her friendship. We connected on our shared love for nature, music and having great times with our friends, and I always looked forward to times when in knew I would see her. I have thought about you every single day since I heard the news, Tracy. What I wouldn’t give for another great hug and a conversation... Love you, Trac’. Rest well, old friend. - Posted by: Billy (Friend) on: Nov 06, 2020

Tracey was an amazing person with the most infectious smile and laugh. She was beautiful to the core, and I'm thankful that I got to be her friend. She was a big part of some of my favorite memories since being welcomed into "the crew" - road trip to Lollapalooza, FolkFests, weekends at Grand Marais, parties, and all the normal hangouts that were never quite normal. It was always a good time when Tracey was around. To say "a life cut short" doesn't seem to do it justice. To her parents and Sean, I am so sorry for your loss. We've all lost a part of our hearts. - Posted by: Jodi (Friend) on: Nov 04, 2020

I have known Tracey for 20 years. So many memories that I will always cherish. So many great times, hanging out with friends, listening to music, laughing, talking, going on road trips, going to concerts, going to the Winnipeg folk festival. She always had a smile on her face, and cared deeply for the people around her. I always wished her well. She left us too soon. My condolences to Sean and to her family. What an unfathomable loss. - Posted by: Kevin (Friend) on: Oct 30, 2020

Tracey was my friend. We had talked several times since her birthday, earlier that week. Friends forever was one of the last things she said. I'm still having a hard time with this. She was such a big part of the best years of my life. So beautiful and full of life. She was always down for adventure. She was always looking out for me. She will be in my heart forever. - Posted by: Andrew (Friend) on: Oct 27, 2020

Every parent who reads what an accomplished, lovely girl Tracey was and always will be shares the pain of your loss. She embraced life with an adventurous, loving spirit and tried to make the world a better place for others. My sincere condolences to all of you who will miss her beautiful presence. - Posted by: Rae Reid (Bill Poole's sister) on: Oct 27, 2020

Tracey was my best friend in Animal Health Technology college and for years after. She was my bridesmaid at my wedding. We were "joined at the hip" according to some of our teachers. We spent so many hours together - studying, hanging out with friends, going for drives (like the drive when we were going to go to school but the sunrise was so beautiful we just kept driving for a few hours) singing Chris Cornell songs at the top of our lungs, playing pool, going for walks, the list goes on. For years we were inseparable. I can't believe Tracey is gone. Her life ended too early. I wish to offer my deepest condolences to Pat and Larry and Craig. I share in your grief and heartbreak. And although I hadn't met you yet Sean I know Tracey was deeply in love with you. Thank you for making her so happy for so long. My heart goes out to you also. Tracey was well loved by so many people in her life. She always received a warm welcome wherever we went. She was extremely smart, as can be seen by her career, and her grades were fantastic. We shared an intense love for animals, and for hanging out with friends. Tracey, you affected so many lives positively and you will always be remembered. I am so very sad that we lost you. May you rest in peace knowing that you were so loved. - Posted by: Jacqueline (Friend) on: Oct 26, 2020

Sean brought Tracey into our family 7 years ago. He had never “brought a girl home before” so we knew she was special. Her calm and quiet presence was a welcome addition to our generally loud-mouthed, opinionated family. She was an incredibly kind, thoughtful and generous spirit who would go out of her way to be helpful to anyone in need. Tracey was an exceptional woman who made our brother, Sean, happy. We are thankful that she was a part of our lives, and we are incredibly thankful for the love, support and adventures that she took Sean on. We are deeply saddened by her passing and will miss her dearly. - Posted by: Colleen and Shannon (Sister in Laws) on: Oct 26, 2020

I met Tracy through Sean as my husband was his best friend. I instantly like her. She was funny, adventurous, smart and had a good heart. We spent many Sunday mornings finding the best breakfast places to eat and have long chats over our eggs. When my first son was born her and Sean were our first visitors and she made the biggest pot of chili for us to eat, and it’s all I ate the first few weeks after he was born. She was a good cook and I have used a few of her recipes in regular rotation in our house and she would often text me good books to read. We are very sad about her passing and will miss her dearly. Condolences to Sean and her family. The Johnson’s - Posted by: Andrea (Friend ) on: Oct 25, 2020

Tracey was an amazing person and was always a great friend. Tracey and I have been friends for for almost 20 years went to university and worked together. We had so many great times together over the years. I have great memories hanging out at Beaconia Beach, the Preston House, the conversations we had between classes at the U of M, and hanging out at work. Tracey was always a kind and sensitive person who had a passion for the environment and loved the outdoors. Pat, Larry, and Sean I am so sorry for your loss. Tracey was always there for me and was a great friend. I will miss her very much. Rest In Peace Trace. - Posted by: Aaron Hutchings (Friend ) on: Oct 24, 2020

Tracey was always my highlight of our family visits, dinners and trips with the Wrights. We were the same age and both into gymnastics. I remember playing with Gus in their backyard, watching TGIF in their basement, or watching movies and listening to music. In our backyard, we would practise our gymnastics beam routines on the fence, or in the living room we would practise other moves. Our families went on a number of road trips, one of them being to Disney World. It was one of the best trips and memories of my childhood - where Tracey and I spent all kinds of time in the pool or chasing lizards. Tracey was full of life and light and fun. Although we haven't seen each other in many years, I especially miss her now and I know the world will be less bright without her. I am at an absolute loss as to how to wrap my mind around such a wonderful woman being taken from us so soon. My thoughts, prayers and condolences are with her family, partner and friends. - Posted by: Jacqui Compayre (Family friend) on: Oct 24, 2020

We are so sorry to hear of Tracey's accident. Tracey was a good friend to Alex and she will be greatly missed. Fond memories of Tracey were her visits to our cottage at Lake of the Woods and her impromptu drop in visits at our home. Janet and I are so sorry to hear of Tracey's passing. She was so young and yet she seemed to packed so much into her all too short a life. So many people put things off and never seem to do the things they want to do. That did not seem the case for Tracey. I wish I had better words to help in this difficult time but I really don't. Tracey sounded like a beautiful person inside and out and she will be missed and remembered. I also know that many people are thinking of you as the parents of such a beautiful daughter and are mourning with you and thinking of you - Posted by: Kerry Kruger (Friend) on: Oct 24, 2020

I attended Springfield Heights Elementary School with Tracey. She was easy to like and we became good friends in grade six, our last year in school together. We ran into each other in our 20s when she was working at Manyfest. I’m grateful for the meaningful conversation we had and glad to have that last memory of her. - Posted by: Alyson Wiebe (elementary school friend) on: Oct 24, 2020

I have known Tracey for the last 17 years. It is impossible for me to look back on my 20s and find a memory that isn't linked to her in some way. She brough a light to the room that is unparalleled. She loved life to the fullest and had the most beautiful soul. Although we had grown apart since she moved out West, she has always held a very special place in my heart. I miss her dearly. Words cannot express how sorry I am for your loss. - Posted by: Jen Glenwright (Friend) on: Oct 24, 2020
