BERTHA PASIEKA
February 6, 1919 - October 19, 2020

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Bertha on October 19, 2020, at the age of 101 years young, loving wife of Michael (Blackie) and devoted mother to Pat and Debbie. Her husband, after almost 63 years of marriage, predeceased Bertha, as well as her infant daughter Diane, seven sisters and one brother, and her son-in-law Ray.
Bertha will be dearly missed by: daughters, Patricia Evans and Debra Allen (husband Ron); grandchildren, Randy Evans, Chris Evans (wife Sherri), Ryan Allen (wife Kellie and great-grandchildren, Eli and Katherine), and Dustin Allen; brother Roy Petrie and many nieces, nephews and all who knew her.
Cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will be held at a later date.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • My condolences, Pat and Debbie to you and your family’s on the passing of your mother. Auntie Bertha was a kind and gentle woman with a warm welcoming smile and was always willing to tell a story about how things were back in the days when she was growing up. I really enjoyed our many conversations about how she met Uncle Blackie and how the two of them made a happy life together. She mentioned many times how lucky she was being a mother to two wonderful daughters. Even after her fall and hospital stay, her smile and confident outlook on life never faded. Auntie Bertha was a great example of keeping a positive attitude even during very difficult times. I will truly miss spending time with her and chatting about years gone by when life was lived at a much slower pace and without so many distractions. • Bertha was a dear member at the Lions Place Adult Day Club for a bit. We feel honoured to have gotten to know this beautiful and humorous lady! - Posted by: Christine (Friend) on: Oct 24, 2020

  • Deepest sympathies to the family. Marilyn and I have wonderful memories growing up in Tyndall of Bertha and Blackie and being friends with Debbie. Bertha was a lovely lady. - Posted by: Theresa Hunter (Friend of the family) on: Oct 24, 2020
