SHEILA DECRUYENAERE
(nee WAPLES)
January 30, 1948 - October 19, 2020

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Sheila after a short battle with Lymphoma.
Sweet and kind best describe her loving ways as she raised her boys.
Sheila and Bob met in the St. Adolphe Park pool in 1966, and recently celebrated their 49th anniversary.
Sheila's love of puzzles sent her on daily (rain, shine or -30) walks to the St. Adolphe Esso for a newspaper. On these walks, she made many friends like the Legaults, the Leclerc sisters, Massoud at his Pharmacy, and the Esso employees.
Over the years Sheila's cooking skills went from non-existent to over-the-top. Her love of fishing and camping will be carried on by her boys.
Sheila was proudest of her loving granddaughter, Haley, and great-grandson, Grayson. She had a special bond with her sister Florence, with whom she shared a crazy sense of humour.
Sheila was predeceased by her parents, Rod and Helen, sister Florence. She is survived by: her husband Bob, their sons, Jared, Ryan (Cathy) and Derek, granddaughter Haley, great-grandson Grayson, brother Ralph (Lauren), brother-in-law Orest, the DeCruyenaere in-laws, many nieces and nephews, special friends, Wayne, Debbie, Mack and Hailey Gajadhar, Isaac (Hedy) Peters.
She passed peacefully in Bob's arms as he sang "Sweet Little Sheila" in her ear.

True love never dies

  • Bob, Jared, Ryan and Derek, I have recently, and sadly, learned of Sheila's passing. I send my thoughts and friendship to you all during these difficult times. I will greatly miss her daily visits, her great laugh, her teasing me of my hair and beard, her pretending to <tell my mom> about my potty mouth, always with a radiant smile and a great laugh. What a great woman she was, kind, generous, fun. Her love for all of you was always clear in our conversations. She would shine in telling of the meals she was making for someone's birthday or celebration. Words can not describe our sadness. We are here with you, by your sides, during these times of sadness. It is with empathy and friendship that we take part in your grief. - Posted by: Christian Poirier (Friend) on: Oct 24, 2020
