JEAN MARGARET JONES
(nee KRIENKE)
Jean was the beloved wife of Arthur, for 68 years and together they built a beautiful life. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Wesley, Brian (Charlene), Linda (Ross), and her grandchildren, Rick (Jodi) and Justin (Karen) who were an endless source of happiness and pride. She always enjoyed a good laugh when her sons and grandsons got her going. Jean loved children and it always brought a smile to her face to see her great-grandchildren, Rielle, Taylor, Ryland, Ivy and Nate. She was very happy when listening to them read to her and show her their pictures and treasures. We are so very grateful to have had her as a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Jean had a close relationship with her siblings and their spouses. Left to mourn her passing are her sister Donna, brother Roy, and sisters-in-law Viola, Amelia and Marjorie. She was predeceased by her parents and her brothers, Harold, Doug, Wesley, and sister Marion. Jean always put family first and made her friends her family. When travelling from British Columbia to Manitoba her and Arthur would make sure to stop along the way to visit their many nieces and nephews.
Jean was born on May 30, 1930, at Southey, Saskatchewan. Shortly thereafter her family moved to a farm by Quill Lake, Saskatchewan. Her schooling took place at two country schools, Lake View and Bradburn before going onto high school in Quill Lake. While attending school and after, she worked as a telephone operator and a store clerk.
She and Arthur got married October 16, 1952 and moved to Winnipeg. Arthur got a job with the CNR police department and Jean became a homemaker where family was the most important thing. In 1962 they moved to Dauphin where they raised their family and made many lifelong friends. She joined Kinettes in Dauphin and continued onto K40's where she could serve her community. Arthur's job took them to Regina, Saskatoon and Vancouver. In retirement, they moved to Kelowna, BC where they enjoyed hiking, cross-country skiing and travelling many places with their RV. Jean liked playing many different card games with her family and friends. In 2010, they moved back to Winnipeg to be closer to family. In 2016, Jean went into Park Manor Personal Care Home.
Jean was always the first to step forward to help others in need. Jean's kindness, caring and support made a positive impact on more people than she ever realized. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends.
Due to present circumstances a funeral will be held at a later date.

Sorry to hear about Jean's passing. She was such a sweet lady, and a good friend to our mother Betty Lesyk at Park Manor. May she rest in peace. - Posted by: Jim/Alison Steele (Friends) on: Oct 31, 2020
