She was born in Ste. Genevieve, MB on May 21, 1938 and married the love of her life, Eugene Henzel on June 13, 1959. Her favourite pastimes were reading, tending to her flower gardens, spending time at the lake, and most importantly being around her family.
In keeping with Mom's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private memorial service will be held at a later date.
The family would like to thank the Doctors, Nurses and Health Care Aides in Southeastern Regional Health District for all your help. The care and compassion were very comforting to Mom.

Condolences & Memories (6 entries)
Thank you to all who posted messages of condolences here. Denise (Mom) touched many over the yrs with her happiness and her ability to greet anyone she knew during her lifetime. As posted here by you all, she was quick with a joke and a laugh and she never shied away from a rich conversation. Like all moms she knew when to scold bad behaviour, as easily as she was able to pick you up with a well earned praise of something good you had done or accomplished. She knew exactly what to say and when to say it. In these times of pandemic living, the family would like to apologize for the lack of more formal remembrance services, and would ask that you all remember mom for what you who knew her best would know she would of said on the timing of her passing! Remember me by having a good meal with the ones you all love, and a pledge to try to make someone’s day just a little bit brighter with a great compliment. - Posted by: Farrell Henzel (Eldest son. ) on: Oct 24, 2021

So very sorry to hear of Denise’s passing. I worked with her for many years at the University. She was always such a happy soul, always good for a bit of ribbing and a joke, and always seemed a tireless worker. So pleased to have known her those many years ago, I’m sure her bubbly personality will be greatly missed by her family, - Posted by: Ian Brown (Co-worker at University of Manitoba ) on: Nov 01, 2020

So sad to read about Denise's passing today. She was such a lovely lady with a beautiful heart. I've known her most of my life, although there were large gaps of time where I didn't see her. She and Eugene were so kind when my father passed away. I will always remember them both. - Posted by: Deb Degryse Clark (Friend of family) on: Oct 31, 2020
