Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • Dear Abe! You began as a hard working, expert mudder of drywall, coming into my home and doing fine work for me. Soon, we were your friends: my mom Grace, daughter Chantelle and I. Your warmth, humor, humanity, humility, kind nature, love of nature and gardening, love of family, of God -- all of these things were so endearing to us. You loved to learn, to share stories, to listen. You were interested and interesting. Your life was a fine example for us to follow. We felt so blessed to have know you and we miss you terribly. We know you went straight to Heaven, to see God, your beloved Nettie, your boys and other family and friends. God bless you, Abe! You are missed! To Abe's family, our belated condolences. Such a man as he will be loved always and missed, I'm sure. - Posted by: Nicolle Richard (Friend/client) on: Apr 21, 2021

  • Hugs and prayers go out to you and family. - Posted by: The Kilborns (Neighbor friends) on: Nov 06, 2020

  • Dear Kel, Deb, and the rest of Abe's family. We were lucky to meet and experience Abe's kindness, imagination, and sense of humour when our daughter Tara married Scott, Abe's grandson. Over the years, even though Scott and Tara moved to Saskatoon, we had numerous occasions to connect with Abe when they were in town, or when we met him out grocery shopping. He always took the time to chat and was an amazing storyteller who always worked to keep the large extended family connected. I know how much he enjoyed games nights with Tara, Scott and the family. We cannot imagine how much you will miss him. Our prayers are with your family. - Posted by: Regine Nuytten (Friend) on: Nov 02, 2020

  • Thinking about you, and praying for you in the loss of your dad. May your heavenly father be especially close to you at this time. Cousin Rey Funk - Posted by: Rey Funk (nephew) on: Oct 31, 2020

  • Uncle Abe was a large and loud presence, but he had a soft heart.:) A couple of memories are: When the Funks came to visit us in Ontario after we had moved there, he introduced us to ice cream floats...we had never heard of them, indeed, we never had soda pop!! What a treat!! He is also the one who introduced us to Bocchi Ball.:) In later years, he would call us on our birthdays and we would always have a lovely chat. Our love and condolences to our cousins Deb and her family and Kel. Uncle Abe is reunited with Tante Netty, and is with his Lord and Saviour!! - Posted by: Kathy Dreyer (Klassen) (niece) on: Oct 31, 2020
