TERRY FARR
Born in England, and always a proud Devon man, Dad and Mum made the brave decision to move to Canada with four young children and settled in Winnipeg. He retired from the Centennial Concert Hall in 1994.
Dad enjoyed travel, seeing many places in Canada and the US. He also returned to Britain several times over the years, reconnecting with family, exploring familiar places, and always discovering something new.
Dad was proud of his children and grandchildren, taking pleasure in their company and accomplishments. He loved to spend summer evenings in the garden with a good beer or glass of wine, and on cooler nights he enjoyed a backyard fire. An avid reader, Dad also kept up to date with technology. He was always trying out new things on his smart phones, iPads, tablets, and computers. He worked on the family tree over the years, even discovering several branches in Canada.
Terry had a particular affinity for cats, and we were rarely without one in our home. Last year he insisted on adding another cat to the home, and so we welcomed Asher permanently to our family.
Dad was predeceased by his wife and our mother, Valerie, in 2010. He leaves his children, Lorainne (Robert), Steve (Kathy), Suzanne (Blair), Jeanette (Brad), and his grandchildren, Margaret, John, Brendan and Claire.
The family is grateful for the support from Palliative Manitoba, especially home care and the nurses, who helped make it possible for Dad to stay home.
Due to Covid, interment is private.
Rather than flowers, donations can be made to Craig Street Cats, Winnipeg.
