LEANDRE CLAUDE DUPUIS

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, husband, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great- grandfather on October 28, 2020, at the age of 96, at Villa Youville in Ste. Anne, MB.
Léandre is survived by his wife Imelda (Lambert), of 73 years, seven children, Diane Moal, Guy (Diane), Fernand (Madeleine), Paulette, Jules, Michel (friend Anne) and Martial (Pierrette), 17 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren, Dad's only sibling Claire Desharnais, and two sisters-in-law, Madeleine Dupuis and Yvette Audette (Marcel).
Mom and Dad married October 25, 1947 in St. Pierre Jolys, MB. They started their married life in Ste. Elizabeth, MB, then moved to Carey, MB where they worked at hog and grain farming, retired in their home in St. Pierre, MB in 1977, then moved to St. Pierre Manor, then finally in Villa Youville, Ste. Anne, MB.
Léandre and Imelda did a lot of camping, travelled up north, out east and west, the United States and overseas. Dad also was a skilled carpenter and fabricated hundreds of items too numerous to mention. Everything was measured precisely and built to perfection. He had a talent for looking at something, then going to his workshop in the basement where he constructed / built items.
The family wishes to thank the caring, compassionate staff at the Villa - their empathy and professionalism was without parallel. Special thanks to Sr. Rioux for her numerous visits and especially her spiritual devotions towards our parents, also Gilbert Audette (family friend), Carolle / Nicole for their caring team.
As per Dad's wishes cremation has taken place and due to Covid restrictions a funeral will take place at a later date.
