I remember MOM teaching me how to ride a bike and swim. She always had time for us, even though there were 4 of us kids to look after. She even got the school bus route to drive us to school! She could drive any vehicle! Miss her smile/laugh! My kids and husband, Gary will hold dear memories of Mom and their Grandma Gerda. May she be at peace with her husband, Keith. Love and miss you, Mom. Love. Always, Cheryl, Gary, Will Ian, Sherrisse and Jackson Stangeland.❤️ - Posted by: Cheryl Stangeland (Stepdaughter) on: Aug 19, 2021

Many years ago, more than 35 years, we met Gerda in her former home and near her hometown Karlsruhe, in my hometown Malsch with my parents Maria and Richard. I remember this meetings very well, because Gerda was a very personable and warm person. We had good conversations and could laugh together. After the 2nd World War, Gerda lived some time with her mother Lotte and her halfsister Helga/my cousin in Oberweier with our grandmother Maria, the mother in law of Lotte. In this after-war-time, the house of Lotte in Karlsruhe was still destroyed, I think, and so they came to Oberweier. Our grandmother Maria tried to give the 2 little girls Helga and Gerda a home. I am sure, she was a good granny to both. Perhaps Gerda told of her. It is a shame, that the two sisters had no good childhood at least because of the war. This time is over. We have very fond memories of Gerda and very often also we think of her in love. We failed to maintain contact in the last years. It is good to read, she has a large caring family until she passed away. Rest in peace, dear Gerda, we sent you and your family love from your former home, from all, who passed away befor you: Oma Maria, Opa Wilhelm, Willi, Frieda, Tante Maria, Onkel Richard, and from all, who are still living as your relations: Franz Schneider and family, Karin Schneider-Weber and family. - Posted by: Karin Schneider-Weber (Halfcousin; her mother Lotte was the first wife of my oncle Willi. ) on: Nov 10, 2020
