EDMUND WIRTH
March 20, 1923 - October 29, 2020

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our father, grandfather, father-in-law, brother, veteran, and good friend. Edmund was a wonderful example as to what it was to be an all around balanced human being, as he always treated everyone with respect regardless of their station in life. After a brief illness, Edmund passed away at the Deer Lodge Centre on October 29, 2020.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place in the late spring when COVID 19 is passed and it is safe to do so.
Special thanks to the staff of Towers 4 and 6 at the Deer Lodge Centre. His care was exemplary.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Deer Lodge Centre, the Winnipeg Humane Society, or charity of your choice would be appreciated.
Longer obituary to follow at a later date.

Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • The South Winnipeg Garden Club Executive, on behalf of its members sends our condolences to the family of Ed Wirth. Ed was an outstanding member of the South Winnipeg Garden Club for many years, both as a gardener and as our Treasurer. Ed was a very loyal garden club member, had a very nice garden and shared his extra garden produce with his church. He was a well-respected and kind person who will be missed by family and friends. - Posted by: South Winnipeg Garden Club (Member) on: Nov 29, 2020

  • When we returned to this province in 2008, Bill and I frequently attended St. Paul’s Fort Garry and sat in the pew behind Ed. We enjoyed chatting with him and catching up on the news of the family. He was a lovely man and I wish to express sympathy and loving thoughts to the family. May he Rest In Peace and rise in glory. - Posted by: Mary Duff (Friend) on: Nov 13, 2020

  • Our last visit was in Deluth Minnesota when my father, Bruce Verity remarried and Uncle Ed came to the wedding as a guest. After the ceremony was done, Uncle Ed and I ventured to the Black Bear Casino and played some blackjack. We had a very nice get together and I was so happy to be able to spend time with him. Uncle Ed gave me a beautiful piece of Inuit Art when I married in 1971. I will always treasure it. HE was a true gentleman and I am sure he will be truly missed by friends and family. - Posted by: Randy Verity (Nephew) on: Nov 08, 2020

  • I do geneology and I'm trying to find out more about the Wirth family as my daughter-in-law is trying to find her father through the Wirth family. I would just like to know who Edmund's parents or brothers and sisters names. Thank you. - Posted by: Lorraine Klaassen (Distant relative) on: Nov 07, 2020
