PENELOPE (PENNY) YVONNE TREFLIN
Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on January 30, 1945, Penny was raised by her adoptive parents Stanley and Dorothy Studney. She attended Tec Voc High School, graduating in 1964.
Penny worked hard all her life. She was employed full-time upon graduation, and began working for the federal government in 1980, until her well-deserved retirement in 2005.
Although Penny went through many difficult times, she lived her life knowing and doing the things that were of real value. She never lost her desire to help others, including complete strangers. She was selfless, always putting the needs of her family, friends and others before her own. She never failed to tell her family how much she loved them, or how proud she was of them. Her caring, giving spirit is her legacy and will always be remembered by those close to her.
Penny leaves to cherish her memory daughter Michelle (David), son James (Linly), grandchildren, Kayla (Daniel), Britney (Ian), Paige and Noah, great-grandchildren, Caleb and Amelia, as well as long-time friends, Peggy Carson, Crystal Chipman, Cherri Olson, Summer Leech and Kenn Burgess. She was predeceased by her parents, brother Laurence and sister Jeanette.
At Penny's request, cremation has taken place, and a private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, the family has chosen to honour her through a memorial website - www.pennytreflin.com. Please visit the site, and feel free to leave a personal message or story for the family.
Memorial donations may be made in Penny's memory to Diabetes Canada.

I'm deeply saddened about Penny's passing. So very grateful we connected for the first time a few years ago. Penny's determination to find her birth family made it possible. I will cherish the memories of sharing our life stories during lengthy phone conversations. Penny spoke so highly and lovingly about her children and grandchildren...clearly, family and friends were everything to her. My most sincere sympathy, Irene McGuire - Posted by: Irene McGuire (sister) on: May 03, 2021
