IRENE TRETHART
June 9, 1919 November 9, 2020
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years, Edward; and sisters Connie and Gladys. Irene will lovingly be remembered by her six children, Melvyn (Kathy), Drew (Adele), Tris (Elena), Kim (Laurette), Dorian (Claudette) and Dorinda (Gord); as well as 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Irene spent her childhood in Bird River and, when Ed retired, they moved back to the homestead where they spent many happy years boating, cross country skiing, hiking and enjoying nature. They also enjoyed traveling, visiting many countries. The family home was always filled with Irene's superb cooking and baking. She also had a love of theatre, poetry and the spoken arts and passed on this passion, coaching her children, grandchildren and children in the community.
We wish to express our heartfelt thanks to the staff at Sunnywood Manor for their compassion, caring and understanding during her final years there.
In accordance to Irene's wishes, her body has been donated for research to the Department of Anatomy at the University of Manitoba. A private family service will be held at a later date.

My thoughts go out to the family. Auntie Irene and uncle Ed, when they came to Wpg. always had a glow around them. Auntie Irene always treated me like family as she was my step-father aunt. I do remember Fort Frances and Pine falls with the family. I just wished that I would have seen you in the long term care home.
