ANTHONY (TONY) LOEPPKY

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts, that the family of Anthony (Tony) Michael Loeppky announces his sudden passing, on Monday, November 9, 2020, at the age of 58, in Fargo, ND.
Tony will be forever remembered by his mother, Gloria Loeppky, father, Gerald (Laurie) Loeppky, sisters, Brenda (Garry) Friesen, and Marlow (Wayne) Fraser, half-sister Olivia Loeppky, nieces and nephews, Danielle (Luke) Brower, Jordon (Riana) Friesen, Trevor (Kate) Fraser, and Geri (Adam Gooch) Fraser, many great-nieces and nephews, extended family and many great friends.
Tony was born on June 22, 1962 in Altona, MB, as a child he lived in numerous places around the United States, his family then settled in Altona where he spent the remainder of his childhood, he attended W.C. Miller in Altona and MCI in Gretna. He then moved to North Dakota to pursue a career as a Long Distance Truck Driver, and if you knew Tony, he was in his element. For he enjoyed the carefree lifestyle of driving down the road to see new sights and the opportunity to meet new people, there wasn't a state in the US that he didn't know a handful of people that he could call his friends. If you met him, even just once, you would never forget those big blue eyes, and that great big smile. Tony was a shoulder to cry on, a protector, a good joke, great (sometimes long) story teller, loyal, rebellious (in his younger years), and an amazing uncle to all children he met. His signature bear hugs definetely made you feel safe and deeply loved.
His love of motorcycles brought him numerous friendships, one in particular was Kurt (Herm) Balster, for which we will be forever thankful. Herm and Tracy Dvorak were there for Tony during his last days.
We truly believe one of Tony's last wishes would be for all of you to take the Covid virus seriously, for this is what took this kind, and loving man's life far too early, please don't let Tony become just another statistic. For in his life, he stood for many different things, but the one thing that mattered most to him was his family and his friends, so please protect yourselves to live long and happy lives. We are all in this together, so let's all do our part.

Tony is now Resting in Peace with the Lord.

A Celebration of Life will be held when it is possible.

  • I met Tony at JT's Ciggaros in Fargo in 1999. He was a great friend to me and always looked out for me, like a big brother would. His bear hugs were always the best. Last year we saw Tony and he was kind enough to donate some money to my daughter who was going on a Youth Trip for church and he said something to me and my daughter what we will never forget. He said " Mollie, I am not a religious man but I feel that this journey in your faith has a purpose and that is why I am helping you with your cause". I will never forget you Tony, until we meet again! - Posted by: Kym Gilman (Friend) on: Nov 18, 2020
