MARGARET TORGERSON
July 20, 1928 – November 9, 2020

With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of, Margaret Torgerson, on November 9, 2020, at the Eriksdale Personal Care Home at the age of 92.
Mom is survived by her son, Lynn (Laurie); daughter, Dale (Jerry); her grandchildren, David (Jackie), Patty (Allan), Jeff (April), Courtney (James), and Dakota (Jessica); her great-grandchildren, Rebecca (Jordan), Dawson (Morrigan), Devon, Tyler, Summer, Faith, Shyanne, Lexi, Erik, Paige, Kieran and Skye; her brother, Bill Neely and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Arnold, parents, Samuel and Margaret Neely, brother, Sam and sister-in-law, Phyllis, sister-in-law, May, in-laws, Tillie, Gunhilda and Herman, Gus and Margaret.
Margie was born in Winnipeg and moved to Eriksdale at the age of eight. She met the love of her life and they were married August 24, 1946. Together, they raised their children on the farm, moving into Eriksdale in 1967. After successfully completing the Health Care Aide course, she worked, with great pride, at the Eriksdale Hospital for seven years.
After Arnold's passing in 1978, Mom's passions included caring for family and friends, baking (buttertarts), cutting her grass, visiting (and helping out) at the restaurant.
A private service will take place in the Eriksdale Municipal Cemetery, with Barrie Bain officiating. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Honorary pallbearers are Ken Wilson, Doug Torgerson, Kerry Neely, Wayne Neely and Kerry Kollman (deceased). Had it been possible, her grandchildren would have been her pallbearers.
The family would like to thank the Eriksdale Personal Care Home for the care and kindness they extended to Mom during her stay.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 1379 Kenaston Blvd., Winnipeg, MB, R3P 2T5.

Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • My Heartfelt condolences go out to Lynn and Dale and the rest of the family . You will be missed Auntie Marg . - Posted by: Bonny Bruce (Pagee) (Great - Niece) on: Nov 16, 2020

  • We were often more like sisters rather than Aunt and Niece. Even our birthdays were close and only 11 years separated us in age. So as such we had our shared experiences, most of them happy but some sad with some differences of opinions along the way but always love. You will always have a place in my heart. - Posted by: Elaine Elliott (Niece) on: Nov 15, 2020

  • Condolences and deepest sympathy. Your Mom was always known to us as Auntie Margie. She was always such a nice person. My thoughts and prayers are with you. - Posted by: Nora Saunders (Friend) on: Nov 14, 2020

  • Our Deepest Sympathy to all of the Family. - Posted by: Martin & Lil Dodd (Friends) on: Nov 14, 2020
