FREDERICK LARRY HREHIRCHUK
July 25, 1935 - November 12, 2020
Larry was predeceased by his wife Aileen, his grandson Adam, and most recently his brother Howard.
Larry is survived by his loving children, Fred (Leslie), Randy (Juana), Karen (Joe); his grandchildren, Jenna (Kyle), Nick, Blake, Matt, Tyler, and his two great-grandchildren, Jordyn and Lucas.
He is also survived by his siblings, Isabel, Jack (Gail), Stan (Charlotte), and sister-in-law Lorraine.
Larry grew up on the family farm in Grandview, Manitoba.
Larry was a long-term CN employee with many friends whom he still remained in contact with throughout his retirement years.
Mom and Dad were married for 59 years. One of dad's greatest passions was flying, family trips to Dauphin, and many out of country flights with lifelong friends was something Dad treasured.
Dad was an avid sports fan. He was a very good hockey and baseball player and he was a well respected coach in the community. Family was very important to our Dad. He could always be found at either a soccer field, a baseball diamond, or a hockey rink, cheering his grandchildren on "coaching from the sidelines". As the eldest sibling Larry was the big brother always looking out for his siblings. He was amazing at organizing the family tree and he loved family gatherings, especially family reunions in Dauphin.
Due to Covid a family interment will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in his memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

My deepest condolences to your family. I met Larry in the Summer of 1983 as I bought a share of an airplane in a group of 10 pilots. A long story short, we ended with 4 guys owning the airplane. Bought and sold for bigger and faster machine. Of the four of us, two of them discontinued the friendship and it was just Larry and I. We continued on and I would pick him up at the care home and we would go for coffee so many times. When he was not so mobile anymore I would go and have lunch with him on the home dining room. I want to thank the vary gracious staff there who would move us in a separate part of the dining room so we could chat in that quiet area. I have so many memories of our friendship over the years and the fact that we were the last two of the group who continued enjoying each other’s company long after we were not flying anymore. We surely liked reminiscing about our many flights together and going to Salisbury House at the West end of Ellice after our flights. That was when he told me so many times how much he was so proud of his children’s accomplishments over the years. You can always wipe a tear off your IPad while you’re writing but not off the piece of paper next to it. Larry, you will always be in my mind every time I see someone up there flying. Rest In Peace my friend, Leon - Posted by: Leon Labelle (Long time friend and airplane partner) on: Jan 02, 2021

I have fond memories of riding the train from Chicago and spending the summer months for two years in the 1950s at the Hrehirchuk family farm in Grandview, Manitoba and meeting my cousins for the first time. Almost every week we attended baseball games and watched Larry pitch. Years later we met periodically when my family came to Canada to visit our relatives. Rest in peace, Larry! - Posted by: Douglas BALAN (First Cousin) on: Nov 17, 2020
