It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Frank Bednar on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2020.
Frank was born July 20, 1927 in Vita, MB, the youngest of seven.
He farmed all of his life in Vita, first producing turkeys, then cattle. He was an accomplished carpenter, building the family home and numerous barns and machine sheds over his lifetime.
He was predeceased by all his siblings: Mike, John and Stanley Bednar, Mary Korchak, Victoria Kowalchuk and Myrtle Phillips.
He is survived by his wife Ann of 69 years; his children, Gayle Gerbrandt (Marvin), Norman Bednar (Olga), Neil Bednar (Dorothy); his grandchildren, Myles Gerbrandt (Cindy), Curtis Gerbrandt (Cassie), Bradley Gerbrandt (Renee), Alexandrea Bednar; and his great-grandchildren, Margaret, Harrison, Sophie and Isidora Gerbrandt.
Thank you to Dr Penner and the Vita Personal Care Home, nurses, aides and staff for the excellent care he had received for his last years.
A private funeral will be held.
