June 10, 1927 - November 12, 2020
Growing up in East Kildonan, she would ride the Moonlight Special to Winnipeg Beach with her good friend Anne. A stroll along the boardwalk there reveals a commemorative plaque to the pair in their youth.
Sophie loved to spend summer days at her cottage at Nutimik Lake with her four children. Fond memories of early morning coffee followed by a stroll down the road will remain forever. Many celebrations with Jeannie cake and ice-cream that Mom would describe as "delicious" will always be special to us.
Mom loved all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, saying they brought her so much joy. She was very proud of each of their accomplishments and cherished every moment spent with them.
Sophie was predeceased by her parents and three brothers. To treasure her memory she leaves her sister Anna Hutchko, her daughters, Bev Caslake, Patti MacDonald and Cheryl Trout (Al), son David Oliver (Connie), as well as five grandchildren, Chris (Sara), Carlie (Mark), Rebecca (Matt), Spencer, Sara (James), and great-grandchildren, Zach, Samantha and Catherine.
Mom will be laid to rest with her Momma (Baba) at a later date.
Thank you to Holy Family Home for their care and compassion during these difficult times.
"Thank you Mom for loving us all so well,
we will think of you always and miss you forever."
