LAURIE LYNN SHYMKO
August 11, 1955 - November 20, 2020

Laurie grew up in Winnipeg Beach until she was 18, then moved to Winnipeg and lived there for most of her life. She and Ron built their house together in 1994. She loved that home and her garden. Then a lot on Pistol Lake was next. From 2004 to today another place she loved was created. She loved going to the cottage. She worked at the University of Manitoba for over 40 years where she made lifelong friends and met many interesting people.
Laurie had her health issues with cancer all her life but couldn't shake her last battle. So, if you would like to make a donation to the Buhler Cancer Centre at the Victoria Hospital in lieu of flowers. She spent most of her care there over the last 11 months. The doctors and nurses who were the most caring and made her feel looked after.

with a smile and not feel sad. When you
live in the hearts of others you never die."

Laurie leaves to mourn the love of her life Ron; sisters, Kathy (Karl) and Dawn. Several nieces and nephews who are dear to her heart.
Laurie requested cremation. The Winnipeg Cremation Service will be fulfilling this request. Due to the current restrictions, no immediate public service will be forthcoming. The family will have a small private ceremony.
