  • Ralph was my spiritual counsellor for many years (when I was a clergy spouse) and I never missed an opportunity to attend any retreat he led. Deep, wise and always spoken in love of God, his words are still with me. On one of those retreats, I was so exhausted I slept through some of his sessions ... I felt so terribly guilty and when I approached him to apologize, his gentle words of comfort and absolution were: "Sandi, sometimes to sleep is to pray." I will carry the Love he incarnated in my heart forever. Love to Eileen and all family members ... my heart goes out to you. We will see him again. - Posted by: Sandi Cain (Friend) on: Dec 03, 2020

  • I remember Ralph as someone with a great musical gift, a wonderful sense of humor, and the ability to make you want to be a better version of yourself. It is at times like this that I regret losing touch with people whose company I once enjoyed so much, especially Heather, with whom I spent many peaceful evenings enjoying the MCO. My condolences to Eileen, to Heather, Tom and their children, and to Catherine. Take care. - Posted by: Bev Henderson (Friend) on: Dec 03, 2020

  • I am very sad to hear of Ralph's death, and convey heartfelt sympathy to Eileen and their family. Ralph left a trail of warm good humour wherever he went, and had a wonderful capacity to speak the truth in love. He was strong in giving support when needed, and wise in his counsel. His service to St. John's College, and to the Diocese of Rupert's Land, was broad and deep. He left a public legacy as well as a lot of personal impact. I know he will be deeply missed. - Posted by: Murdith McLean (Friend) on: Dec 01, 2020

  • Barbara and I wish to extend our deepest sympathies to Eileen and the family at the passing of Ralph. We both loved and respected him as a true man of God. He had a very effective ability to skewer you to the back of the pew with the word of God, but it in a warm and kind way. We will miss his warmth and humour, and his ability to inspire us, and we wish the family all the strength they need to cope with this loss. - Posted by: Brian and Barbara Kirk (Fellow Parishioners) on: Dec 01, 2020

  • Ralph was a huge help to me in my discernment of ministry and such a loving and generous mentor. I appreciated hearing his passion of justice and love of God. He inspired me to travel to Ireland and to Corrymeela. I loved his humour and twinkle in his eyes. Ralph made a difference in the lives of individuals, of faith communities, communities and countries. - Posted by: Diane K Guilford (Friend and Admirer) on: Dec 01, 2020

  • Beth and I remember Ralph with all his warmth and compassion and wonderfully quiet sense of humour. We send our sincere sympathies to all the family. - Posted by: Bernard Beare (friend) on: Dec 01, 2020
