IRENE SIGUROS MORRISON

Irene Siguros Morrison (nee Page) passed away peacefully, in her home, on November 18, 2020.
Irene was born August 17, 1931 in the home that she would live in at Hnausa, Manitoba. Mom was very proud of her Icelandic Heritage. In 1941, her father moved the Page family to Winnipeg and resided on Dominion Street. Many friends and memories were made in that home. Mom attended General Wolfe and Daniel McIntyre schools where Irene met her Jimmie in Grade 9, forever inseparable until his passing in 2010. They bought their first and only home on Duffield Street in 1956 where they built a happy life with their three children, Patches, neighbours and friends. Mom travelled extensively with her Jimmy and in later years with her children and friends. Mom always said that she considered herself lucky and grateful for the life and adventures she shared. Mom loved her family, and her greatest pleasure was to spoil her grandchildren, rotten.
Mom was predeceased by her husband James Robert Morrison, parents, James Henry and Sigridur Page, sisters, Jonina (Peter), Dorothy May (Wallace), brothers, James, Roy (Soley), Gordon, Gerald and Lorraine Lapointe. She will be greatly missed by her children, Gordon Morrison (Judy), Gerald Morrison (Becky), Leslie Dryburgh (Patrick), her brother Arnold (Josephine), and sisters-in-law, Joyce and Lillian. Ama will never be forgotten by her grandchildren, Sarah Morrison (Greg), Tyler Morrison, Kaitlyn Morrison (Stan), Leah Dryburgh (Kyle), Hailey Dryburgh (Alyssa), Jana Morrison (Matt) and Alec Dryburgh. Auntie Irene also created many fond memories with her numerous nieces, nephews and close friendships, May Contafio, Olga Safnuik and Diane Keep.

Godur bi, Godur lifid. (Good Bye Good Life)

As per Mom's wishes, no service will be offered.
If friends wish to honour her memory, donations can be made to The First Lutheran Church, 580 Victor St., Winnipeg, Manitoba R3G 1R2.

Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • Irene was not only a beautiful person, she was my beautiful bridesmaid. She was a kind and gentle soul and was loved by all who knew her. She will live on in my treasured memories as well as Jimbo & Rothelle, Marlene and her boys RJ and Tyler Page. Sorry this message is late, but I had difficulty finding how to send it at the time, so I mailed it to your old address Leslie, and it came back to me...said the address was 8 yrs old. So it's been a long time coming. I know Irene would just laugh and understand. Here is a message to share with all the family members. It may be late, but it's sent with love. It will be the little things, that you will remember The quiet moments, the smiles, the laughter. And though it may seem difficult right now, It will be the memories of all the little things That will help you push away the pain, And give you strength to smile again. Rest in Peace Dear Sister-in- law and Aunt. You will always be remembered along with your Jim. Love, Joyce - Posted by: Joyce Page (sister-in-law) on: Feb 04, 2021

  • Sorry to hear about your Mom's passing but Happy to hear her passing was peaceful . I spent many wonderful visits with all the Pages. I even remember helping when they moved in to your house on Duffield. We are grateful that Janice was able to bring Irene on a visit to Edmonton to visit with my Mom, Blanche Cave while she was in long term care. Enjoy the wonderful memories of your very Special Mother and Grandmother - Posted by: Bernice Cave Rempel (Daughter of Blanche Cave and a lover of the whole Page Family) on: Dec 17, 2020

  • Thoughts and prayers from our family to Gord, Gerry, and Leslie and their families. May she rest in peace. Arnold, her brother and my father, will miss her very much. Arnold was married to Georgina, not Josephine, who passed in 2017. Uncle Jim just liked to call her that! - Posted by: Gary Page (Nephew) on: Dec 06, 2020

  • Irene was a special friend to me growing up across the street on Dominion St. The Page's were a family of seven and I was an only child so they included me in their family all these years....Irene babysat me as a baby and in turn, I babysat her children and later her children babysat my children.... My sincere condolences to her family and I will always cherish my friendship with Irene and Jim...Love Diane - Posted by: DIANE KEEP (SPECIAL FRIEND) on: Dec 05, 2020
