We are so shocked to learn of Donna's death. Our heartfelt sympathy for your huge loss particularly at this time of year. We have been summer neighbors for many years at the cottage, but it is always amazing, and sad, how much you don't know about a person. We will keep you all in our prayers during this very sad and difficult time. Tony & Rosemary van Rosmalen and family - Posted by: Tony Van Rosmalen (Friends from the lake. ) on: Dec 30, 2020

Donna was such an amazing person. This goes back to 1988 when my son, Justin, and her son, Joey, became friends in kindergarten. I ended up working full time and asked Donna if she knew of someone who could look after my 5-year old son after work. She said, "I do that." Donna Sitter was the perfect child care provider for about 5 years, until our family moved to BC. My sincerest sympathies to Bob, Joey, Melissa and Nicole. Donna was a truly special. I met Donna at Westview School while her child and mine attended nursery school there in the ‘80’s. Years passed and we met again working for WRHA. Small world. She was always a kind and caring person for the young and the aged. A great person will sorely be missed. My deepest sympathy to her family and friends. - Posted by: Cathy Moslenko (Friend and WRHA co-worker ) on: Dec 09, 2020

So sorry to read this. Donna cared for our son when he was young. He has such fond memories of the time they spent together. Colton and Donna would go for breakfast at the Golf club. I still have so many cherished crafts that they made together. - Posted by: Jodi Horst (Home Daycare family) on: Dec 05, 2020

We are so sorry to hear of your Mom's passing, Melissa. It is very hard to see someone you love suffer as she did. Donna is at peace now and, hopefully that will bring you some comfort. However, many happy memories of your mom will live on in the hearts of you, your family and numerous relatives and friends. We are thinking of you. - Posted by: Lynn and Bob Thomas (Friend) on: Dec 05, 2020

I will always hold the memories I have with Donna close to my heart... we lived next door to one another for many years and had many great times. One memory was “ working out” to Richard Simmons, in the basement and then going back upstairs and having coffee and treats.... my favourite was the pineapple upside down cake she made!!! We had our babies ( Melissa and Graeme) within days of one another and the babies were together for years. Although we drifted apart... her memory will always make me smile. Hugs to the family. - Posted by: Lynn Robertson (Friend) on: Dec 05, 2020
