LINDA HANYSH

It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of our wife, mother and grandma on December 2, 2020, at the age of 74 years, after a lengthy and hard fought battle with PSP. Linda passed peacefully, with family by her side.
Remaining to forever cherish Linda's memory are her husband of 53 years, Bill, daughter Kim (Mike) and son Bill (Sheree); four grandchildren, Cody (Alora), Austin, Ryan and Olivia.
Linda will always be remembered for her kind heart, her creativeness, her welcoming dinners for the "entire neighbourhood" and especially for her courage and strength, no matter what came her way. Linda's inner strength was unwavering and truly amazing to those who witnessed it.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the entire staff at Extendicare / Oakview Place who took care of Linda in the same fashion as would her family. Thank you to Christine Hamilton who was not only devoted to providing excellent care for Linda but also provided our family with reassurance and comfort. Finally, a special thanks to Linda's roommate and friend, Pearl Bickerton, who kept a watchful eye over Linda, and forever, will be part of our family.
As per Linda's wishes, cremation has taken place and the family will honour Linda's life on a later date.
Flowers are gratefully declined.

You can only have one Mother loving, kind and true, no other friend in the world will be so true to you. For all her love and kindness, she asked for nothing in return, if the entire world deserted us, to our Mother we could turn. To hear her voice, to see her smile, to sit and talk with her awhile, to be together in the same old way, would be our only wish today.

So long Mom, until we meet again.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Linda and her husband Bill have been friends to me and my late wife Judi for decades....Linda had a huge heart and I recall her passion with crafts and spending months producing Christmas decoration for Craft sales...this diminished as she became more ill.....a true friend and a wonderful lady. God saw you getting tired And a cure was not to be So He put His arms around you And whispered "Come to me." With tearful eyes we watched you As you slowly slipped away And though we loved you dearly We couldn't make you stay. Your golden heart stopped beating Your tired hands put to rest God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best. - Posted by: David Magrel (friend) on: Dec 05, 2020
