I thank Lorraine’s family so much for informing us of her death via the newspaper. I am Valerie Loeppky (Hasey). I grew up with Lorraine, her siblings and her cousins. We had so much fun making many treasured memories growing up in Fort Garry. Several of us moved to Vancouver in the 1960’s. Vancouver was a long way from Fort Garry but we were comfortable in our Dreams of the Future. Every so often we would hear from one of the families. The word for Lorraine and Barry thankfully was that they were doing very well. Barry, I wish you and your family and the St. Germaine family my sincere condolences. It was an absolute pleasure sharing my childhood with Lorraine. I will always cherish those memories. Rest In Peace Lorraine. I will say a prayer for you. Your old friend, Valerie. - Posted by: Valerie Loeppky (Friend) on: Dec 19, 2020

Lorraine, How do we go on without you? Still awake in disbelief and we all miss you so much. No one does Christmas like you and the day is quickly approaching, we are lost. Calls and emails from your friends ending in sobs, your little boys don't know where you have gone. You were kinder than most people, I remember we were driving along the highway to Napa Valley and you stopped for this man? Ah, I was so angry with you, but you got out and soon both of you were laughing. He wanted some help, think he needed a tire iron, we were soon on our way. Walking the streets of San Francisco eating Ben & Gerry's ice cream and out for dinner. I wish I could go back with you! I will meet you on the other side, my sweet sister. She probably stopped on her way to Heaven to give directions to some wayward souls or shoo a bug out of the way. Love eternal your rotten little sister! Sunday, November 29/20, My brother Dennis phoned me and told me our sister Lorraine had passed away. I was totally in shock, and I still am. Everything Barry said about Lorraine is so real! Lorraine and our dad were a lot alike, they were liked by everyone. Lorraine was one of a kind! Where do I start? If you saw a spider, mouse, bat, insect you could not kill it. Lorraine would pick the insects up and put them outside, she told me they want to live too! When Lorraine wanted to move to Vancouver, I was very sorry to see her go. But little did I know there was someone she would meet for the rest of her life. Lorraine and Barry met, 3 weeks later they were engaged and were getting married. Barry and Lorraine travelled all over the world there was nothing he wouldn't do for her. Richard, Paul and myself went for a vacation to Barry and Lorraine's every year. We were treated with great restaurants, camping, pool parties, vineyards, ball games with exceptional people. We were always included with there special friends. That was something else! My sister loved people, and I love her and miss her for the rest of my life. Barry thank you for taking great care of my sister for 51 years. You are a great husband, and all of us are proud of your lifetime accomplishments. What you did to further you career, no one helped. You did it yourself only with your wife Lorraine by your side. I am sure she will always be looking down and saying "Barry I love you forever! Now stop watching the football game and clean the house. Love your sister Linda forever - Posted by: Linda Sobie (Sister) on: Dec 05, 2020

I would like to extend my deepest sympathy to the Davies , McGuire and Yeung families on their loss. Lorraine was one cool aunt! Every time I watch Star Wars or a Pink Panther movie to this day I think of her as she brought me to these movies when I was seven. I still talk about it to this day. Living in Vancouver\ Kelowna I would see her once a year and be excited at Christmas when she would come into Winnipeg to celebrate the holidays. The summers in B.C. are also great memories as Barry would take me to see the B.C Lions and go on the largest roller coaster in Canada. These are some of the happiest memories of my childhood. You will be missed, Paul Sobie, nephew - Posted by: Paul Sobie (nephew) on: Dec 05, 2020
