EDWARD GEORGE RUML
He was predeceased by his loving wife Janet (McKee), his parents, Wenceslas and Anna (Sellner), brothers, John (Myrle), William (Ann) and Frank (Joyce), sister Mildred, sister-in-law Myrle (John), and brother-in-law Daniel Fowler (Agnes). He will be lovingly missed by his son Greg (Corinne) of East St. Paul, daughter Lisa (partner Pat) of New Jersey, sons, Christopher (Evelyn) of Texas, David of Texas, Kevin (Lori) of Texas, his grandchildren, Cameron (Sara), Jenny, Brittany, Angelique, Cassandra, Max, Julianna and Spencer, his brother James (Denise) of Winnipeg, sister Agnes Fowler of Scarborough, ON, sister-in-law Joyce Denoon of Winnipeg, and many Ruml, Sellner and McKee nieces, nephews, and cousins in Canada and the USA.
Ed was born and raised in East St. Paul, Manitoba. He excelled at sports, playing organized hockey on many teams during his school years. Ed played junior hockey with the Winnipeg Black Hawks earning the nickname "Fast Eddie" and baseball with the Elmwood Giants and C.U.A.C. Blues. After graduating from St. Paul's College, he chose professional hockey as a career, playing a season with the Nelson (BC) Maple Leafs and then five seasons with the Johnstown Jets in Pennsylvania where he met his wife Janet McKee. Off-season, Ed worked as a painter and then for J.H. Ashdown Hardware where he had a 16 year career in sales and management. In 1972 he changed careers and sold residential real estate in the Winnipeg and East St. Paul areas. In 1982 he moved the family to Carrollton, Texas, where he continued his real estate career with Re/Max until he retired in 2005.
Ed always had a smile for everyone he met. He was a gentleman and never said a harsh word to anyone. He was very proud of his family and enjoyed many family roadtrips to the US to visit relatives. A devout Catholic he attended St. Alphonsus Church in Winnipeg for nearly 50 years and St. Catherine, Mary Immaculate, and St. Gabriel in Texas. A Funeral Mass will be held at a future date.
Memorial contributions can be made to the St. Alphonsus Building Fund Project in Winnipeg or St. Gabriel the Archangel Church in McKinney, Texas, or to a charity of one's choice.

My sincere condolences to all the family. A very beautiful gentleman whom i remember my parents enjoying time together with in our childhood years.
