MARIA MILLER
(nee DYCK)
December 31, 1924 – December 1, 2020

After a brief struggle with COVID-19, our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother has found eternal peace. Maria Miller was born to Heinrich Dyck and Katharina (nee Redekop) on December 31, 1924, in Zaporizhia Oblast, in what is now Ukraine. Mom was the second youngest of 10 children, and has outlived all her siblings. She was predeceased in 2012 by Wilhelm, her husband of 61 years, and in 2008 she was predeceased by her son-in-law, Charles Finnbogason. Maria is survived by her six children; Will (Joan), Henry (Ingrid), Erich, Hanna, Alfred (Barbara), and Kurt (Diana). She is also survived by eight grandchildren; Tammy (Greg), Angela (Christopher), Kristoffer, Shauna (Chris), Lindsay (Ryan), Taylor (Courtney), Jarrod (Kayla), and Karla (Bryan). Mom was especially proud of her 12 great-grandchildren; Jordin, Drew, Brooklynn, Brody, Theodore, Paige, Briar, Grayson, Lily, Killian, Kaylee, and Baron. One of her greatest joys in her last years was pointing out her many great-grandkids to visitors, taking pride in remembering their names on the portrait wall in her suite at Bethania Personal Care Home.
Special thanks go out to all the care workers at Bethania Personal Care Home for your exceptional care over the years. In particular, your compassion and assistance in the last days of Mom's life were of great comfort to Maria and the family.
Donations can be made to Bethania Mennonite Personal Care Home in her memory.
