ROBERT (BOB) HARRIS
He was predeceased by his parents. He leaves his beloved wife Lynne of 54 years, son Sean and faithful puppy Kodi, brother-in-law Robert Beatty of Portland, Oregon and sister-in-law Barbara Beatty of Vancouver, as well as family members in Saskatchewan.
He was born in Weyburn, SK. As the son of a Military father, there were many moves. In his early years he enjoyed spending time on his grandmother's farm in Maxim, SK. He was the son of Captain Donald Harris and Helen Harris. He lived in many provinces including Churchill, MB, NWT and Europe, as his father was a career officer in the RCAF.
Bob joined the Winnipeg Police Force in August of 1972, as a signal operator. He retired as Communications Supervisor for the City of Winnipeg Fire Department in January of 2001.
Bob was a member of Capitol Lodge AF and AM, where he became a Past Master. He also enjoyed golf with his son, time at home with his family and travels to the annual APCO conventions, as a representative for the City of Winnipeg Fire Department. Family was most important to him and he will always be remembered and missed.
In lieu of flowers, Bob asked that donations be made to the City of Winnipeg Firefighters Burn Fund.
