MARIE OLIVE JOHNSON
Marie was born on March 10, 1936, in St. Charles, MB. Her life was not ideal and there were many bumps in the road. Marie was very strong willed and stubborn which helped with her journey through a long and interesting life. Marie spent the first 12 years of her life in St. Charles and attended school at the convent, and later when the family moved to Charleswood, she attended Chapman School. Marie remained close with her mother after her parent's separation.
Unfortunately, Marie died alone. Throughout life, she wanted desperately to find her Mr. Right, who was nowhere to be found.
Marie is survived by her son that she raised, Howard. She is also survived by her other sons, Tony, Earl and Danny; as well, by other children that she didn't have the means to provide for and unselfishly gave up for adoption to loving parents.
Marie is also survived by her sisters, Lorraine Sopko, Louise Johnson (Romeo), Rita Henry (Barry), Frances Greco and Clara Yahiro (Art). She leaves several nieces and nephews who remember her fondly and thank her for the love and laughter that she brought to the family. Her life stories will keep her spirit alive in their hearts.
Marie was predeceased by her father Joseph Branconnier; her mother Laura St. Arnaud and her only brother William Branconnier.
Marie spent most of her life in Charleswood and had many friends who, unfortunately, have also passed away. The family would like to acknowledge Garry Searles and his family for befriending and looking out for Marie, until Garry's untimely passing.
Due to Covid, cremation has taken place and there will be a family gathering to honour her life when restrictions are lifted.

We are so sorry to hear about Marie's passing. We have fond memories of Marie, she brought happiness and laughter into our home when she came to visit with our dad, Garry. She was kind and generous to our boys. She would always bring a ton of unique toys for them. She loved shopping for bargains and always found something unique. She was young at heart. A beautiful tribute for my Aunty Marie. As I scrolled though all of the Saturday's obits and wondered how many suffered this dreadful sickness only health factor contribute was your age. They say your in a better place? I hope your running free dancing like nobody's watching - wait a minute you already always did that. I hope your eating your hearts galore all the food you loved. I hope your visiting with your beloved family that has passed and most of all not suffering. Corona virus was unforeseen and who knew it would take so many of our elders.
