BRENDA DELORES STERN
August 24, 1951 - December 4, 2020

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brenda Delores Stern on December 4, 2020, at the Grace Hospital.
She will be lovingly missed by her husband Nick Hasiuk, daughter Amanda Battershill (Bill), brother Bill MacCartan (Gail), sister-in-law Beverley Hasiuk (Murray Simsolo), brother-in-law David Hasiuk, mother-in-law Julie Monaster, favourite aunt Mary Rose Mrazek, numerous cousins, plus her four adorable fur babies (Joshua, Jericho, Tina and Nadirah). She was predeceased by her father William and mother Fern.
Brenda was born at the St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg on August 24, 1951 to William and Fern MacCartan and spent nearly all of her life in Transcona. She started working for the Canada Revenue Agency on April 1, 1970, retiring in July 2010. During her career she worked in many areas, starting at the Tax Services Office at 391 York Avenue and ending at the Winnipeg Tax Centre on Stapon Road. Throughout her career, she made many lifelong, cherished friendships. After retiring, she spent three years volunteering with the Winnipeg School Division's English as a Second Language program. Working with her teacher Rosalinda and the students brought her great joy. She learned as much from the students as they did from her. She always wanted to be a teacher and this gave her the opportunity to fulfill her dream.
The family wishes to thank the staff at the Grace Hospital for their kindness, compassion and care shown towards Brenda.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Winnipeg Pet Rescue at 3062 Portage Avenue.
A celebration of Brenda's life will be held at a later date.
