SYLVIA BROWN

It is with great sadness, that we announce the sudden passing of Sylvia Pearl Brown on November 28, 2020, at the age of 82, due to COVID-19 complications.
Lovingly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews, Sylvia is survived by her twin sister Shirley, and was predeceased by her parents, Gordon and Hilda, and her siblings, Joyce, Allan, Ken, and Raymond.
Sylvia, affectionately known as Sylv, was born in Carmen, Manitoba on November 5, 1938. In her teens, Sylvia earned the nickname "Slippery Jo" (later shortened to Jo), for her habit of unsuccessfully sneaking off whenever it was time to do the dishes.
Later, Sylvia worked at Doray Enterprises for a number of years.
Sylvia loved the simple things in life: her daily Yahtzee games, playing bingo, and strawberry milkshakes. While she could be stubborn and opinionated, Sylvia's
determination carried her through many rough spots, and she would always be quick to smile or laugh with (and sometimes at the
expense of) her family.
Known for her uncanny ability to
remember everyone's birthday or
anniversary, it was hard to stump Sylv on any of these dates.
Sylvia took pride in her collections and
various tchotchkes and liked sharing her
excitement with her family when she
received a new piece of clothing (she loved her sweaters) or something new in her
all-time favourite colour mauve.
Our Auntie Sylv will be deeply missed.
The family would like to thank the staff at Fred Douglas Lodge for their care and
compassion.
