DAVID RICHARD PARKIN
November 18, 1945 - December 3, 2020

With great sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother.

Dave is survived by his wife of 51 years, Arlene, son Richard (Sarah), daughters, Brenda (John), Susan (Steve), grandchildren, Bryan, Kaley, Kristin, Owen, Dylan, great-grandchildren, Emma, Hannah, and Rylan, brother Alan (Christine), sister-in-law Gail as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. He is predeceased by his
parents, Leslie and Edith and parents-in-law Doug and Bernice.

Dave was born in Winnipeg where he attended Sargent Park and Daniel McIntyre. He was Akela in Boy Scouts for many years. He served on vestry and Peoples warden at St. Patrick's and St. Jude's Anglican Church. He held the position of past Master Mason, St. James Lodge No. 121. He enjoyed bowling, curling, dancing and travelling, especially the many trips with our great friends, George and Marg. He mostly enjoyed the summers the family spent at our cottage in Winnipeg Beach for the last 35 years. Every Friday night was Pizza Place at the cottage. He enjoyed spending time with family, friends and neighbours, fixing things around the cottage and building things.

Dave worked at Parrish & Heimbecker Ltd. for 38 years where he was Terminal Accountant and always provided for his family. Dave was a cancer survivor. The last few years have been difficult health wise, especially the last six months. He was in Grace Hospital since September 16 with several infections and contracted Covid 19 while on 2 South ward which tragically took his life.

The family would like to thank Dr. Lother and the heroic ICU team of Grace Hospital for all their efforts and kindness.

Donations in Dave's memory can be made to Cancer Care Manitoba, or a charity of your choice.

Unfortunately, due to Covid 19, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date when this horrible disease subsides.
