ANNE BOYCHUK
Anne was predeceased by her husband John, son David, parents, Fred and Mary Shewchuk, and sister Helen.
She is survived by her children, Russell, Ken, Audrey, Mary and Carol, as well as 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, as well as brother Walter, and two sisters, Pauline and Sylvia.
Anne was born on March 12, 1931 in Ethelbert, Manitoba and grew up on a farm in Garland.
She met her husband, John in Garland at a fair, when he offered to buy her an ice cream. They married on May 27, 1950, where they settled in Sclater and she dedicated herself to build a happy home and raise six children. Mom was a very strong woman who endured many hardships, but was kind, patient and did everything for her family, her community and her church. She instilled in all her children to work hard and always be grateful.
She was an exceptional cook and gardener, loved singing in the church choir and other choirs in Pine River. She was very proud of her culture and passed on many traditions to her children and grandchildren, especially the art of making paskas. It brought much joy for Mom to look after everyone around her, and did it without expecting anything in return. Her grandchildren have many happy memories of her hugs and kisses and her special cookie jar.
Thank you for all the staff at Holy Family Nursing Home on 2A, especially Magda, who made a difference every day for Mom.
We are forever grateful, Mom, for
all your love! You can now rest and be
at peace with Dad.
May your memory be eternal!
Viewing will be from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
Interment will be at Boychuk's Cemetery following the service.
Family has requested, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba in memory of our dear mother.
